Popmundo Help
Popmundo Rules of Conduct
Players are expected to behave in a civilized manner at all times. Players who are offensive and abusive to other players will not be tolerated. If you feel that certain players are abusing their freedom within the game, please feel free to report them to us. We will put them in the penalty box, or even worse, expel them from the game.
The following things will not be tolerated:
Personal attacks and insults on players.
Political, racial, sexual, and cultural discrimination.
Spamming. All forms of repeated messaging with the purpose of spreading a single piece of information or request (for instance money, objects, votes during elections etc) to large amounts of people or a selected recipient. This includes unrequested advertising of any sort.
Copyright violation/Plagiarism: Publishing texts or graphics in the game from the real-world which you do not personally own the rights to. This includes material belonging to the Public Domain. If they're not your words, do not use them. We want this game to be an original and creative community, not a resting place for recycled old stuff we've read a million times before.
Cheating and link manipulation. Any attempt to trick the system in order to gain an advantage in the game is considered cheating. Cheating and failure to report ways of cheating to the developers can cause you to be banned from the game.
If you have any evidence of cheating methods, do not discuss it in the forums or post it in any other public place. Report it using the forms provided.
Multiple accounts: You are not allowed to register more than one player account in the game. This basically means that you're stuck with the character you picked when you first registered to play the game. The only ways you can get another character or more than one character are if your first character has a child within the game or dies. Players creating more than one account, or logging onto more than one account run the risk of being banned from the game and having their characters killed.
It is not allowed to buy VIP for other persons in exchange for in-game items or votes.
Attacking our voluntary staff members (such as Forum moderators, Editors, Translators and members of the Inquisition) or their decisions publicly (in blogs, forums or similar).
Role Playing Conduct
Do not build your character or your roleplaying style upon sensitive things like real life politics, religious issues, discriminatory philosophies, or criminal personas such as murderers, etc. Do not make use of material (text or visual) containing explicit descriptions of violence, criminal sexual acts, hate crimes etc. We do not want those things in the game. Players who fail to abide by these standards will be expelled without warning.
Treat other players in the game with respect in your roleplaying. If you're going to roleplay something which could be considered offensive by someone, make sure you do so with a finesse, style, and humor to emphasize that it's all in good fun.
We demand that all our players use common sense when playing this game. Simply because something isn't strictly forbidden in the game rules doesn't mean it's not frowned upon or even grounds to have you expelled from the game.
"I was only role playing" is never a valid excuse after someone has been personally abused by elements not included in the game mechanics.
Personal Information
We recommend that you do not hand out any personal information about yourself to other players in the game. This includes information such as what school you attend, which city you live in, how old you are and so on. Revealing personal information about other people without their consent is definitely not accepted, and is in direct violation of the Rules of Conduct. Please consider everyone's safety on the internet.
Do not give out your user name or password to another player under any circumstances - not even if they claim to be a developer of the game. If you suspect someone has gotten hold of your account information, please change your password immediately.
Third party products
Popmundo was made to be played without external browser scripts or programs of any kind. There aren’t any official third party products around and we have never recommended the usage of such things.
Several third party products have been developed and designed by cheaters to do things in the game which aren’t meant to be done. Most of you have no idea what these products are doing “behind the scenes”. You could be cheating or aiding cheaters without even knowing it. These products might even be used to steal your login details.
Since it’s difficult for our game officials to determine if someone is using nasty scripts/programs on purpose or not, we must treat all users of these nasty scripts/programs as cheaters.
Anyone being caught developing and/or using third party products that might be harmful to our game and/or our users will have their accounts cancelled.
