Custody requests
We're turning the world a bit upside down in Popmundo 2.0: instead of actively giving custody of a child (anyone under the age of 16) to the other parent, the other parent will request custody of his/her child from the current parent.

Once you get a request for custody from the other parent, you have two weeks to either accept or reject it. Accepting it will transfer the child immediately. If you do neither accept nor reject the request within those two weeks, the request will be accepted automatically by the system.
Also, if the current active parent is dead, the request will be accepted immediately. There are, of course, times when this can cause trouble, for instance when the puppet master decides to focus on playing a child and lets the parent of it die.
In most cases we believe that this is a non issue. Kids aren't a commodity, and if the custodian is dead, common sense says that the other parent should be able to get custody of the kid. Most likely you, as parents, also already have an agreement on which puppet master should control the child.
We've done some number crunching, and there aren't that many dead parents still in control of a child. Therefore, we feel safe to release this new function in the coming days (most likely tomorrow Wednesday).
Our hope is that this function solves more custody problems than it creates. We will of course tweak it, if necessary.

Random scammers using fake addresses like popmundo.summerhost.info are only trying to steal login details from you and if you know that you used a website like that, make sure to change your login details NOW.

The state of things...
A New Year is upon us and we're busy bees with the new version of Popmundo. Although we might have appeared to be slacking off since we haven't added that much to the public beta during the last few weeks, we've actually made a lot of progress in the background.

Most pages are now prepared for translation, and there has already been a lot done on the actual translations by our hard working translators. They have a great amount of texts to go through and we can't thank them enough for their amazing work.
Along with that, there's a new version of our forum around the corner. Once we're done with this we'll get back on track and continue adding new features to the beta.
After that we'll start optimizing the finished parts, limiting the amount of clicks, tweaking the layout and taking care of anything that might come up along the way. We will of course be working on the crime game as well, but more about that later.
