Baby. We need to talk..
Today, when Dan gifted me a bottle of cherry brandy so I could properly celebrate my birthday, I decided it was time for a serious conversation with my husband. I had been keeping a secret. Not for long, but even a day keeping a secret from him felt like an eternity. We share everything. I could feel the weight of keeping something from him pressing down on me, so I took a deep breath and opened with:
“Baby, we need to talk.”
The expression on my face must have given away my nerves because Dan's curiosity turned to concern almost instantly.
With my stomach tied in knots, I knew what I wanted to say, but the words were trapped somewhere deep inside me, screaming to be released. But all I could do was point him in the direction of the bathroom. Unease hung in the air as he disappeared beyond the bathroom door.
