Late night thoughts
Miss Purrfect's death had affected everyone of the Meade's family. She had been the first family member Hayden had ever lost, the first who Hayden had considered his family after running away from his mother. And she had definitely brought him and Emma closer. And now she was gone. Hayden had suggested to tell Melody that their cat was now in the night sky and if she wanted to talk to her, all she had to do was look up to the stars and talk to them, because Miss Purrfect would be listening.
On this night Hayden found himself looking up at the night sky, missing his cat like crazy. After a while of star-gazing, Hayden of course got reminded of his first time in Paris with Mariela. She had taken him to her old school, made him break in there, so they could sit down on a blanket at the darkest spot in the area and talk to her mother up in the stars. And then the next day, they had visited the museum and Mariela had told him to think of her when he stole there something someday. As luck would have it, this week they would end up in Paris again. To steal together a famous portrait as partners in crime and kiss in front of it, because that had become their thing.
Maybe they would be in Paris on Hayden's and Charles' birthday, which was coming up this week again. The thought of his birthday made Hayden smirk amused, because till this day he always kind of expected to find a wrapped present from Mariela, with a bull's eye target t-shirt inside of it. Just to tease him about the old times, when he had been so scared of her after she had found out the truth about his career. But if this week was his birthday, then that meant next week was day of the dead, which meant next week was his 5th anniversary with Mariela.
Hayden's eyes widened in shock while he was still looking up and his neck started to hurt. 5 years he would be married to the love of his life, his Only Valentine, his Ariel. He had an idea how to celebrate this, but he would have to make some calls...
