Melody was as cold as the beer that the parishioners so avidly drank and as beautiful and tempting as the next beer of the night. She knew it. In that bar, everyone drank blonde in her honor.

Melody ignored him. She, with a bad face, hurried the last of her beer, always red, and sighed. Her curse, the young woman thought, was not to attract men, but to be unable to be interested in them. The newcomer was not daunted.
