New Single On New Years Eve & New Hopes With Pain
When I step into the spotlight, I can feel the weight of every note I have ever played. This time, it felt different, it shook. My long-awaited single Blues Retold 4 dropped right as the New Year.
With gravel in my voice and fire in my fingers, I poured myself into these songs, into pain, resilience, and redemption. One track, Life is Simple, might be the most personal thing I have ever written. It carries the spirit of my homeland, that Irish melancholy, the rain-soaked streets, the quiet hope that refuses to die, all wrapped up in a sound that is raw and real.
But there is another heartbeat behind this music, my sister Bella. She passed away a couple of years ago, and not a day goes by that I do not think about her. Bella was not just my sister, she was the founder of our band, the one who believed in me before anyone else did. We were not a blues band back then, we were just a bunch of dreamers trying to find our sound. But she was the soul of it. She taught me what it meant to feel a song, not just play it.
When I wrote Blues Retold 4, I could hear her voice in every chord. Some nights in the studio, I would catch myself looking over, expecting to see her smile or roll her eyes when I hit a wrong note. I still miss her deeply, and I think part of this record is my way of keeping her close.
We celebrated the release back home, family, friends, old bandmates, everyone who has walked this road with me. There was laughter, a few tears, guitars in every corner, and the warmth of people who understand what it all means. I danced with my kids, jammed with my brother, and when midnight struck, I raised a glass to Bella.
For me, this release is not just about new music. It is about family, memory, and the fire that keeps us going. As the final notes of Blues Retold 4 fade, I can almost hear her whisper, Keep playing, Tommy.
Remember: Blues for Life. Blues for Pain. Blues for Reality. Blues for what’s missing.
