Movement VI "You're my Light Of the Day"
We spent our first St. Valentines together. Such a romantic moment. A moment to shout aloud that I loved Deniz Criss. A couple of days later, while we were having the dinner out in a restaurant, I lend him my mp3 with some music. And he asked me to marry him, out of the blue. No rings, no plans. Simple and pure love shining in his eyes. I couldn't bring myself to say no. One can't simply refuse an offer like that. So I said yes. Yes. I knew he would never betray me and none could make me as happy as he did. As he does. Because when someone find the other half of their soul, there is only happiness left for them. So even if I was afraid of marriage, I said "Yes, I do".
On the following night, in Manila, he rented a house and decorated it in such a perfect way. Candles, roses. We had dinner and then he did it again. He went on his knees and this time, pulled a box out of his pocket. A simple gold engagement ring. It wasn't engraved - it had been bought on that same day. When he slipped the ring into my finger, I felt complete. So in the following morning I bought another ring for him.
We wanted to keep it secret to everyone but our families for a while, at least until we had programmed the wedding. We told our children that we were getting married. They were so happy. Duru exclaimed that she wanted to change her surname... and Deniz agreed. So while I called mum to ask her for permission, Deniz called his mom... who I didn't know yet. She had only learned that Deniz and I were together when he adopted Elanor.
I guess it was a surprise to everyone. Hey, it was a surprise even to ourselves.
