Like Dating-Dating

Forest had been living the life of a widower for a few years, his husband was in a state that didn't give much hopes and they have already talked about how Forest could proceed with his life.

The idea or desire to date was stocked away somewhere in Forest min, something he'd do later, when he met the right one. If there was such a thing.

He moved in the world with an aloof approach, he was friendly, but kept people at arm's length. This was his mindset when he met Felix at the Designer's Gala, they had a friendly talk, they flirted, Forest found Felix to be handsome and charming, the conversation interesting enough to continue it in a bar and then his hotel room.

Forest didn't think it was going to be anything more than a night with a handsome fella, maybe a friend to grab drinks sometimes. But it turned out they didn't stop texting and meeting. Things went well for them. But Forest didn't realized until he was drying his hair that morning, thinking about the weekend's plans.

For him they were still just getting to know each other. He had a husband for Kobe's sake. So when Felix invited him to Christmas dinner with his family, Forest felt it might be too soon. It made him nervous, it'd be the first time in a long time he'd be meeting family.

Just thinking about it made him a little apprehensive, it was too soon, right? It wasn't until that morning that Forest realized they were actually dating. Like dating-dating. And it had been at least six months since they met.

He sat on the bed, dumbfounded by the realization that time passed and he actually liked to date Felix and he wasn't planning to stop.

Was this the slow, wholesome dating people talked about??

"Why am I so dumb?" he asked to himself before taking his phone and calling Felix. "hi, you should count me in for Christmas..."
Maybe it wasn't too soon, maybe it was just the right time.
