casualties of love
hi everyone,
today i’m putting aside a bit of the pop-star routine where i always have to pay attention to every tiny detail. i want to talk about lily maggart diamantis. a woman who loves art, renaissance paintings, bad poems, and silly jokes.
a long time ago, i thought some things didn’t have space in my life anymore. i spent some time hiding away in london, trying to find meaning in so many things, and then i went back on tour after a long time away from the stage. there was emotion, there was passion, and i found my balance again — musically speaking, you know?
my life motto was always: 'artists are like the phoenix, they periodically have to self-immolate, burn off an aspect of themselves to give birth to something new,' coz that’s how my whole life felt.
nate changed that. actually, he thinks all of this is a bit silly, even though sometimes he calls me 'his muse.' he saw me beyond the pop spectacle and the big dramatic concepts. he showed me there’s a lot to learn in simplicity. he took me to secret dinners in paris. he showed me there’s art in life. that there’s art in love. nate took my hands and, in silence, told me: you don’t have to be scared, because i’m a star just like you.
now my life motto is different. it’s something like: 'where there is love, there is life, and so does art.' there’s nothing i love more than sharing a part of my story with you, and i hope we get to live every part of this world together. i can see in your eyes the best of who i am.
