Today would have been your birthday; quite a special one as multiple sixes represent good luck in our culture. I know it has been a very long time since I wrote to you - admittedly talking about you still brings tears to my eyes. Though, throughout the years, those tears have turned from sadness into the most comforting bittersweet feeling. There are days where I still miss you; but somehow I have learned to live with it because I know you are always beside me, even on the other side of the veil.
You were with me, surfing around the world while I was trying to find my way. You were with me, the night I was driving your car around London and ended up at the bar. You were with me, on Halloween night when Ronny walked me home. You were with me, as I was standing there with the golden star ornament in my hand on Christmas morning. And again, right beside me - as I walked down the aisle on my wedding day. Today, when we all went hunting in your honor. Not as a ghost, not as a zombie - but as a memory that I hug so sacredly in my heart forever.
