Sweet years behind us, sweeter ones ahead

The best time of the year came and went and I’m only now finding a moment to write about it. Our first wedding anniversary, Valentine’s Day and of course Big Bang—all of it happened so quickly. The result wasn’t exactly what we hoped for, but becoming the genre runner-up still made me feel happy and proud. For our anniversary, Taehyung took me out for a beautiful dinner; the atmosphere of the place, the wine we shared and the amazing food made the night feel even more special.

Throughout the dinner, I couldn’t take my eyes off him. The soft light falling across Taehyung’s face seemed to smooth out everything around us; every time I looked at him, my chest tightened just a little. Our conversation flowed so naturally that it felt like the world outside went completely silent. It was as if it was just the two of us, and time itself slowed down for us.

The way he smiled at me still echoes inside me. It’s hard to believe a whole year has passed; but no matter what happened along the way, knowing I’m still standing beside him makes me feel like I made the right choices. On the way home, he didn’t let go of my hand even for a moment. Maybe it’s a small gesture, but it gives me a sense of comfort and belonging stronger than anything else.

When we got home, neither of us talked much; even the silence felt peaceful. All the exhaustion of the year, the stress from the competition, and everything we had pushed through seemed to lift off my shoulders all at once. Sitting next to him on the couch and simply breathing felt like its own quiet celebration.

Lately I keep realizing that no matter how hard I work, the real achievement is the warmth waiting for me at home. And being by Taehyung’s side makes even the most tiring days meaningful.

We may not have won Big Bang, but in my own life, it feels like I’ve already won the greatest prize.
