Pixels & Heartbeats

Called her to Paris last minute.
Didn’t give details.
Didn’t think she’d actually drop everything and come.

But she did.
Walked out of the taxi like she owned the skyline.
Soft hair, curious eyes… acting like she wasn’t turning my whole day upside down just by showing up.

I took her to my family’s old chalet.
Nothing fancy, just a place I used to disappear to when life got loud.
Didn’t expect her to step inside and make it feel warmer in under a minute.
Didn’t expect her to make me feel warmer either.

Set up a picnic by the lake.
Blankets, candles, her favorite things…
thought maybe she’d smile a little.
She smiled a lot.
And that alone made the whole plan worth it.

Then she pulled out her phone and said,
“I want you to hear something.”
Didn’t know I was about to hear a song she wrote for me.

Yeah… that one caught me off guard.

I never sit still, but I did for that.
Every line, every note
she didn’t have to say my name.
I heard myself in all of it.

She thinks I’m the one taking care of her heart.
She doesn’t get it.
She doesn’t see the way I look at her when she’s not paying attention.
Doesn’t notice how quiet I get when she gets too close.

She calls it luck.
I call it trouble, the kind I don’t mind running into.

Mizu… keep surprising me.
I’m not planning on stopping you.
