A homework

Joshua loved sitting on the stairs in front of the university. He loved watching how the students and teachers walked there, either to their classes, deep in thoughts, either walking out, also thinking but with usually a smile on their faces, like everything got meaning inside the building.
He so desired attending the university. Totally, full time.
He also was allowed visiting already, but still, these moments on the stairs meant the most, like he was stealing something important. Collecting these moments, the hopes and dreams of those that passed by.
And when he felt he was full with these moments he jumped up and rushed in the building to join the class of his favourite teachers.

It was similar at the school, too. Though it had no stairs to sit on, there he loved leaning against a tree and watching kids passing by.
Their feelings and emotions seemed to be different, though.
It was less about learning, more about the community, and lots of chit-chats. There he collected these moments as he felt he was unable to collect such by himself.
There he was just a weirdo or he felt so.
Then when he got bored he just pushed himself away from the tree and walked home.
