BREAKING NEWS: Catastrophic Earthquake Devastates ChicagoCHICAGO: What began as an ordinary morning in the Windy City turned into chaos today as a massive earthquake ripped through downtown Chicago, leaving widespread destruction and panic in its wake.
Just after 9 am, a deep roar erupted from beneath the city, escalating within seconds into a violent quake that buckled sidewalks, shattered windows, and toppled bridges.
Iconic landmarks, including Millennium Park and the Chicago River bridges, suffered catastrophic damage. Fires broke out across the city as power lines snapped and transformers exploded, plunging entire neighbourhoods into darkness.
Witnesses described scenes of terror as buildings crumbled and debris rained from above. Emergency sirens soon filled the air as Chicago Fire and Police units raced through the wreckage, pulling survivors from the ruins.
As the dust settled, the once-vibrant skyline stood fractured against a haze of smoke and flame. Moments later, the first aftershock struck, signalling that Chicago's struggle for survival was far from over.
