After you are advanced in all skills for putting up brilliant performance on stage you can start working on skills to record songs and to direct films and media skills:

There are a lot of skills you will need for becoming a successful musician. So improving skill will be for a very long time the career mission of your choice.
A musician who wants to make it big on stage needs songs. The better the songs, the better the shows later on.
So piling up well made songs is a good investion into your musical career.
And having the composing skill ready for composing kick ass songs will help you on the long run cause you can pile up songs.
You can easily start touring without any skill in your genre, your stage roles or other skills. So you do not miss out on the fun doing shows. And even better... you can gradually see you get better with time.
You can do around decent to good shows with little skill and well chosen cover songs. Which is enough to build up popularity in the world. And later, when you have your own songs you will sell more tickets because of the popularity. And the number of tickets will give your songs popularity and in that make your shows better.
Recording and directing films are things someone can help you with. And talking to media is helping big artists to get bigger.
