I grew up in the shadow of my mum, a celebrity who always shone far too bright. I never wanted that kind of stage. I preferred hiding behind records, letting the music speak for me. Bass became my safe place: heavy, steady, deep. I taught myself, playing along to bands like The Cure and Sonic Youth. That’s how ST. CHROMA was born, a space to turn silence into colour. I never needed to be the voice of the band; I believe I’m better at holding down the pulse that keeps everything alive. Our singer carries the words, and I get lost in the low end that shakes through people’s chests. My tattoos tell the parts of the story I can’t say out loud: each line a scream that never left my mouth but lives through my strings. I don’t want a normal, tidy life. I want the noise, the mess, the weight of every note that makes someone else feel alive.
